I’m a sucker for all-one-colour outfits. My post on the black midi dress and my neutral toned outfit from a few months back are proof enough. It offers a sense of uniformity, it cleans your whole look and it allows you to really play on the whole tonal trend which I can’t get enough of. Although I haven’t toyed with tonal in this outfit, it has hammered home my love for navy.
While I’ll probably never tire of ‘all black everything’, sometimes it’s nice to switch it up and navy is the hue for the job. Similar to black, it’s a classic shade that can be worn for work or play. Lean towards the tailored side and it makes for an adequate get up for the office, while different textures and shapes can alter the context completely. Chunky knits and loose cuts for casual, silken finishes and flashes of skin for an evening out.
This time I went for what’s becoming a uniform for me – a cropped leg, a men’s oversized jumper, cinched in waist and ankle boots. Super comfortable and actually quite versatile as I usually wear variations of this look to work, industry events or simple day to day adventures.
The outfit itself is pretty simple, so for me, detail is where it’s at. Although it isn’t rocket science, I’m forever rolling up my sleeves as a personal touch to all my everyday outfits, and the thick leather belt really breaks the look up.
I’d love to know your thoughts on this one so comment away below and have a peek at some of my previous looks too!
